How to spot fake moving reviews

Practical signals to assess moving reviews and report suspicious content without mistaking every negative review for spam.

Moving and destination planning illustration

Look for useful moving details

Route, timing, move size, communication, and the handling of an issue can make an account more informative. Detail alone does not prove authenticity, and a short review is not automatically fake.

Check patterns and company identity

Repeated passages, unrelated promotion, reviews about the wrong company, or coordinated-looking activity deserve closer attention. These are reasons to investigate rather than proof that a review is false. Read favorable and critical accounts together.

Know what snapshots represent

Snapshots summarize or import moving-company reviews from other platforms. They are not new customer submissions here. A platform total may include reviews not individually displayed, and the same customer may appear on more than one source. See our rating methodology.

Report suspicious or harmful content

Our support team reviews reports of spam, fabricated reviews, harassment, profanity, and personal information. Content found to violate our guidelines is removed after staff review. We apply the same standards to positive and negative reviews.

Use more than a star score

Email verification proves inbox access, not a completed move. Check applicable registration, ask who will transport your shipment, and compare written estimates. Read our moving scam warning signs and questions to ask before hiring.
